Greetings EDF soldiers and crew. My name is Harry, and I've been sent by a peaceful Moonrace corporation as part of a technological exchange between our Moonrace and other people on Earth. I'll provide you with technical assistance and help with repairs, as well as assisting you with Moonrace technology. All I ask in return is that I be allowed a mostly superficial level of data on the mechs that I maintain. I hope that we can work together well without any conflicts.

Oh, and I'd like to request that I be allowed to bunk on base; this job is about knowledge more than money, so treat me as you would one of your own.

[Private, almost unhackable]

So this is the EDF base... it seems that on the surface they're a fairly peaceful, if disorganized bunch. Still, this is where that white mobile suit that the factions of the Moonrace seem so interested in is deploying from. Hopefully it will attract that man Corin Nander again... and then I may be able to find out what Agrippa Maintainer is truly up to...

My paperwork and background information should be mostly flawless. At worst, I should be able to remain here like this for a few weeks, though renting the space to hide my SUMO with a sufficient covering to block sensors was a bit pricey. Still, it will all be worth it when the Moonrace can return home and finally achieve the peace that the people... and Diana... wish for.

((Now that I've drawn a hacker in the form of Kira, I'd prefer it if any other super experts refrain from hacking unless they have something really important to say. Thanks in advance.))

Agrippa? Corin Nander... isn't he that guy we fought in New Zealand who was looking for a Gundam? A Gundam that was somehow different from the Gundams we were all piloting? At least he is probably telling the truth about wanting peace. After all, why would he lie with this much security?

Your from the moon race?

Yes. I hope that the actions of my fellow Moonrace haven't given us too terrible of a reputation.

The name's Harry, nice to meet you.

Oh I don't really know the details with the Moonrace and I don't like to judge when I don't know. I know what its like when people do that, since I'm a Coordinator.

So what are you guys fighting for anyway?

Well I'm glad to hear that. I've heard quite a bit about the plight of Coordinators as well. If anything the treatment they've received is more nonsensical than anything we've dealt with.

As for the Moonrace... out people once lived on Earth, but war and environmental disasters drove us out. Now the Earth is a far more livable place, even if it isn't peaceful. Diana, our queen, had intended a peaceful return, to negotiate for land with the native people. However... between their own stubbornness, and the insistence of other factions that we simply take the land we need... frankly, it's just a mess now, and Diana's real power has waned considerably.

That's really unfortunate. Yet another pointless war. If what you say is true, then Diana Counter and the EDF should be working together, not fighting pointless battles which ultimately only serve to damage the world we hold so dear.

...So you have a SUMO here? Isn't that one of Diana Counter's mobile suits?

Unfortunately, Queen Diana and her supporters have fallen into the minority among the Diana Counter after a coup staged by one of our officers. Certain factions still on the Moon oppose us as well. It's... complicated, but I do believe that most of them are merely misguided. If only they would listen to reason...

Ah, and it seems you've found out quite a bit about my activities here? Yes, I possess a Diana Counter SUMO... I hope to keep it hidden for as long as possible, but if the need arises I'll take whatever action necessary for the sake of Diana and the Moon.

I understand. No one on PLANT would believe me I think, but I fight just as much for them as I do for the Earth. I will not tell anyone what I know. I think if others were to find out they would agree with you however.

Many of us are like you, just caught in a war we cannot avoid despite our best efforts looking for peace. You might want to be careful of Sochie, she has a certain distaste for the moonrace.

My goals are like yours. While I do prioritize my own people over others, I would rather the whole world be at peace than have the Moonrace subjugate others.

I can see that most of the pilots on base are much like you, and would accept me at face value... however, even with all of the recruitment you've done of former enemies, there are those at the top of your organization that I still don't fully trust.

I'll keep the name Sochie in mind... I imagine she's come here from the militia that we've been fighting up till now?

Yes, Sochie is from the militia. Despite her being a bit naive about the world and her avid dislike of the moomrace, she is a good person. I just wanted to warn you because I suspect you might feel the brunt of her wrath, as potentially misplaced as it might be.

As for those at the top, I do not trust them at all. In many ways they are just as responsible for the sequence of events which led up to my recruitment as I am: the destruction of my former home followed by what effectively amounted to my kidnapping. In some ways being an official member has helped me in this regard, I have access to computers and logs that I would otherwise not have access to as well as a mobile suit in which to fight when I have to.

I also know we are not alone, there are others here who are just as dubious about the higher ups as I am.

I see. I'll try to handle her as gently as possible, though I do have my limits.

I'm glad to hear that my suspicions were not misplaced. While it's somewhat disheartening how often good men must follow those that they can't trust, at least this time some of those good men are aware of, meaning that there's still hope for a proper alliance between Diana Counter and the EDF in the future.

Wait, you're from the moon? This is great! I've been trying to wrap my head arounnd this weird microwave beam that came from the moon a while ago. You wouldn't happen to know anything about it, would you?

Garrod said finding it would would mean going to the moon and that would be difficult with the moonrace... but if you're here that makes all the difference!

From: [identity profile] 0moon-glasses0.livejournal.com
Hmmm... so that energy reading had something to do with them? Maybe it really wasn't Agrippa or Gym...

A weird microwave beam from the moon? I'd heard about some unusual energy readings from the surface, but I'm afraid that if it has something to do with the Moonrace that it's not anything I'm privy to. What exactly did this beam do?

Date: 2009-04-04 05:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] messiahfist.livejournal.com
Well, it was a beam that shot down from the moon onto Garrod's Gundam. And then it fired off this gigantic energy beam that pretty much wiped out an entire strike force.

I mean, *REALLY* blew it away! We were all just in awe of it all, and then this girl we were escorting started to panic and she's in the hospital now. We're all really in the dark about why it happened, and we guess it's because of the big microwave laser, but he said there we probably wouldn't be able to go to the moon and find out because of the Moonrace.

I see... such a weapon sounds quite incredible. I was unaware that such a thing even existed. I'll look into it... but I'm not making any promises. Is the girl alright?

I see... so it's some sort of weapon allowing a mobile suit to exceed its own energy capacity for firepower... interesting.

We don't know yet. She's alive, but there's only so much modern medicine can do.

I see... unfortunately, medicine is not my area of expertise. It seems that we can only hope for the best now.

Well, I'm not from around here. *she looks at Harry's hand for a moment before remembering what to do, and extends her own to shake*

From what I understand, most of the people here wouldn't have considered themselves "from around here" when they arrived, though I'm sure it's more true for some than others. *he shook her hand firmly*

The moon is very pretty from here. Is it as nice to live on?

From: [identity profile] 0moon-glasses0.livejournal.com
Hm... the sky is artificial and the air is recycled, and I certainly noticed the differences when I arrived here. And of course, you can't see the Moon from the Moon.

Still, it has it's charms, and the cities we've built have a unique beauty of their own. We certainly live in comfort.

And of course, if you can get a spacesuit, the Earth may be more beautiful from the Moon than the Moon is from Earth.

I think there's something to be appreciated about many walks of life. The moon sounds nice in its own ways.

I agree. More people need to learn to see beauty where it's not as readily apparent.

From: [identity profile] 0moon-glasses0.livejournal.com
Ah... I expected as much. While I apologize for the actions of others of my kind, I can assure you that the Moonrace is no more violent than the people of Earth.

Date: 2009-04-04 08:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] other-heim-girl.livejournal.com
Can you... Can you really say that to someone who fought in your stupid war? After Nocis was torn apart? There's always a new low for you!

Date: 2009-04-04 09:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] 0moon-glasses0.livejournal.com
Ah, that. Yes, unfortunately, though many of the Moonrace are peaceful, they are also... naive. There are manipulative men who would twist that trusting nature into a tool of destruction, playing with their frustration and impatience, and encouraging anger and hatred. While some of us only wish for peace, it isn't wrong to be truly angry at those who would deny it... and even those whose intentions were pure but whose vision was impaired by their own desires.

Date: 2009-04-05 08:18 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] other-heim-girl.livejournal.com
Hmph! You can say whatever you like, but there's no good Moonrace. The EDF screwed up when they let you slip through the cracks, and even if they don't care, I do! Whatever you're planning...

Date: 2009-04-05 07:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] 0moon-glasses0.livejournal.com
Hmph. All I ask is that you learn to judge people as individuals instead of by their origins even if I'm deceiving you at the moment. After all, even a Beastman seems to have gotten fair treatment here...

From: [identity profile] soylent-genki.livejournal.com
Um, I'm sorry to butt in, but should you really be blaming everyone from the Moon for the actions of one militia there? That would be kind of like me blaming everyone in North America for Britannia's invasion attempt, or someone judging everyone on Earth for the DC's actions.

I know how much you've lost, but blind hatred toward everyone in the Moonrace is just going to create more distrust and violence, isn't it? Mr...um, Harry seems like a nice person individually.

Date: 2009-04-06 06:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] other-heim-girl.livejournal.com
But it's different, it's obvious, all of the Moonrace are unified. They're even starting to live on our land and settle where they've chased us out! Any Moonrace on Earth is an accomplice to that, and I won't back down...!

...

...Harry's not bad, I guess... By himself. Enemy or not, I still wouldn't like him.

Date: 2009-04-06 06:25 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] soylent-genki.livejournal.com
...it's not obvious to me that they're unified. Just like we're not the same as OZ or the Titans because we're Earthnoids, it could be that Harry and his group want a peaceful solution while others don't.

Or like the fact that I am in the EDF and fighting my hardest against ZAFT?

If all the moon race is evil then shouldn't by that logic all coordinators be evil as well? After all, clearly anyone from PLANT is in agreement with ZAFT, regardless of who or what they appear to be on the surface!

I can stand for a lot but this is ridiculous! I watched an entire colony get destroyed by a nuclear missile by the Earth Alliance, EARTH ALLIANCE! Uncountable numbers of innocent coordinators were killed in that attack, worse yet, there was almost no way for anyone to have survived! Escape pods would have been caught in the explosion, and no one had time to get to them anyway.

Does this make me hate all people from Earth? No. So think a bit before you start throwing hate around.
